# 4G LTE Link budget calculator

You can calculate the Link budget (Signal level at receiver) and then compare it with Rx Reception sensitivity. Then you will understand Radio Channel Status (Pass or Fail) and Cell Radius.

The calculation is based on the  3GPP 38.901 standard. Approximately Link budget of 4G LTE can be calculated using the formula:

Update1: Add Free Space Path Loss (FSPL) Propagation Model. Now you can use LOS or NLOS Model

If I use the 4G LTE LINK BUDGET CALCULATOR to determine the max distance for a Radio Channel Status=Pass for uplink, does this indicate the max distance to attach to the eNB or max distance for a minimum upload speed of a specific value? I looked at the 3GPP 38.901 standard but could not tell the answer.

I am involved with establishing 4G-LTE and 5G off world. Is there a way of adjusting the planet radius and dielectric constant of the soil? It would be great if I could overlay a terrain map with local coordinate.
