# 5G NR ARFCN calculator

This Page provides information about 5G NR ARFCN Calculator. Calculator is based on 3GPP TS 38.104 Release 17 specification.

It will help you to convert the number of the 5G NR ARFCN frequency channel to the 5G NR frequency and back (5G NR frequency to 5G NR ARFCN).

Be Careful, Support ARFCN depends on the frequency band. More information in the tables below.

Example: 5G NR ARFCN = 428000, 5G RF Center Frequency = 2140 MHz

The formula for 5G NR ARFCN is described in 3GPP TS 38.104 chapter 5.4.2.1.

By default, frequency range of 5G NR is divide into two parts FR1 and FR2 (below you can see table from 3GPP 38.104, table 5.1-1).

FREF = FREF-Offs + ΔFGlobal (NREF – NREF-Offs) (i)
NREF = NREF-Offs + (FREF – FREF-Offs) / ΔFGlobal

Is there a fixed number of nrarfcn in 5g Or 4g.even in 2g it was not fixed. I was asked this question in ericsson interview. As per my understanding there are more than 100 different frequency bands and each has got different range and deltafglobal value. Hoe can there be a fixed number say for 5g.

Do you have something that allows me to calculate the channels needed from start ARFCN to last ARFCN and creates a test channel list based on step. For example start, stop, step based on channel bandwidth ?

Great tool but has some minor precision issues. Your precision is limited with 2 digits for output of ARFCN to frequency conversion. For example, If use the ARFCN 399967 your tool produce 1999.84 MHz but actual value ise 1999.835 MHz. It would be better to use 3 digits for MHz.

Do you have the formula to calculate the 5G ARFCN from the 4G ARFCN?

This is invalid request as you could get the 5G physical frequency from 5G ARFCN and then convert 5G physical frequency back to EARFCN…
