This Page provides information about 4G LTE Timing Advance (TA) Distance Calculator. Timing advance (TA) is a UE offset between the start of a received downlink subframe and a transmitted uplink subframe. Timing advance (TA) offset at the UE is necessary to ensure downlink and uplink subframes to be synchronised with the eNodeB
The Timing Advance (TA) Command in RAR from eNodeB to UE indicate an index value TA (0, 1, 2… 1282) which should to be used.
NTA is the timing offset (sec.) between uplink and downlink radio frames. NTA depends on TA.
NTA =16* TA * TS . Where TS = 1/(2048×15000) = 1/30720000 sec
Maximum propagation Distance can be calculated using the formula:
Distance = (3*108*NTA)/2 m
The calculation is based on the 3GPP standards.

Amazing Work!!!
Do you have a calculator for 5G time advance?
Dear, Alfonso
I did it. You can use: https://5g-tools.com/5g-nr-timing-advance-ta-distance-calculator/
Regard, Oleg
Interesting, I have some eNB histograms of distance and the resolution seems to be 156.25m. The next step is 312.5m.
Thus the distance is more like “Distance = (3*108*NTA)m”.
Hi.
Your formula is for round trip which is 2*distance.
Is this calculation the same for Band 41 (2500 MHz TDD)?
